Sino-US alliance. Can Japan depend on US nuclear arms?
- Interviewer: Yoshiki Hidaka, Researcher of Hudson Institute
- Interviewee: >"Stephen John Hadley", Former deputy national security advisor
: >"Fred Barnes", Executive editor of The Weekly Standard
China executes on-duty deployment of intercontinental ballistic missiles, and has already deployed more than 2,000 mid- and short-range missiles that can attack Japan on the Taiwan opposite coast.
China pushes forward large scale military expansion, but the President Barack Obama strengthens pro-China position rapidly, and it begins to be said that the times of G2 now.

Emerging economies in 2010; epicenter of an another crisis ('09. 11/7)
In 2009, so called emerging economies are doing relatively better than developed countries. As their powers rise, so does their influential voices.
Emergence of G20, replacing traditional G7 or G8, symbolically represents this move, ref.(>"Meaning of failure of the latest G20")
Although t seems a little bit that G20 means just a photo opportunity for leaders, traditional G7 has already lost their exclude power to decide global matters without hearing their voices.

Unstoppable economic growth in China ('09. 11/1)
It was forecasted that "regarding GDP, China would top Japan within 2009 depending on foreign exchange rate" -- sizes of GDP are compared in US$ dominated amount.
But as JPN\ has risen against US$ while Beijing intends to fix Yuan's rates against that, Japan is likely to keep its position as the world No.2 economic power if it goes as it is.
But even so, it is almost certain that China will top Japan in 2010, ref.(>"China rising while Japan declining")

The Hatoyama Administration's economic and fiscal policy
One and a half month has passed since emergence of the DPJ-led Hatoyama Administration, and the new government is showing its originalities in some policy measures, ref.(>"Mr. Hatoyama states his politics")
New administration's measures that differs from the ex. LDP-led one will improve Japan's economy and people's daily lives as it pledged in its election manifesto?
In my opinion, some of them are good and favorable for Japan while others are bad and even harmful.

What the 41th Tokyo Motor Show teach us
The 41st Tokyo Motor Show was started on Oct. 24th at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Mihama Ward, Chiba Prefecture.
But unfortunately, the annual motor show in Japan in 2009 apparently lacks vigor and heat. Some say this is due to global economic fiasco triggered by subprime fiasco in the U.S., ref.(>"Global slump hits Tokyo Motor Show")
But just moment please. The motor showed held in Shanghai this year attracted 77 automakers.

Will the Hatoyama Administration be able to change U.S.-Japan relation?
- Interviewer: Yoshiki Hidaka, Researcher of Hudson Institute
: >"Kenneth R. Weinstein", the CEO of Hudson Institute
- Interviewee: >"Kurt M. Campbell", Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs
As newly emerged the DPJ-led Hatoyama Administration declared to take distance from the U.S., it jolted both Japan and the U.S., ref.(>"Beginning of the Hatoyama Administration")
But the degree of crisis of military conditions surrounding Japan is deepening as the result of rapid military expansion by China and nuclear ballistic missile development by North Korea.

The Press Club: Politics & mass media
All major newspapers and TV stations criticize collusive and corruptive relations between politics and various trades such as general construction, medical industry, agriculture, postal-office network and so on.
For example, constructors depend on lawmakers for the sake of pork-barrel business while they work as vote gathering machiens in central and local elections.
Wasteful public construction works across the country are just a result of this relation.

Beginning of the Hatoyama Administration
Half a month passed since the >"Launch of DPJ-led new government" that broke around half a century of the LDP one-party ruling only except in 1993.
Needless to say, an "administrative change" itself is a neither purpose nor goal for the DPJ and new Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama. It is only a "measure" and "start."
Now, what does matter is what the DPJ and Mr. Hatoyama will do from now on. Let's analysis policy measures of the DPJ at a first glance.
