Comment;

It is true that North Korea is a hermit and dangerous country, ref.(>Iran, North Korea and the bomb. Spinning dark new tales)
For example, North Korea conducted military experiences of nuclear bomb and ballistic missile -- but both were far from significant success.
In addition, it is rumored that dear leader Kim Jong Il has a health problem so that succession issue will be emerge within short, ref.(>
"緊迫する朝鮮半島情勢")

But at the same time, no matter how eccentric country North Korea is, it is a military threat for neither the U.S. nor Japan. Because North Korea is merely a failed country.
Military experiments by North Korea is just a bluff as hard as possible, stamping with vexation of a difficult child
Namely, North Korea wants the U.S. to mind to withdraw economic aids and get a guarantee for the continuation of its regime, ref(>
"北朝鮮への制裁に思うこと" & "金正日に悩まされるロシア")

In my opinion, "threat of North Korea" is only an excuse, and true intention of U.S. military expansion in Asia and pacific region is to prepare for a rising dragon, China.
There is no way for the U.S. but to depend on China in selling of Treasury Bond under current economic conditions. So the U.S. can't take open hostility posture against China.
So the U.S. needs to use an invisible cloak of "threat of North Korea."

Japan -- as an ally of the U.S. and neighboring country of China -- should also pay attention to the change of the global and regional conditions.
Due to its geopolitical importance, it is unlikely that the U.S. won't withdraw its forced stationed in Okinawa.
In order to contain China, the Okinawa archipelago is a perfect blockade for the U.S. In other words, China must break through an encircling net of the Okinawa isles absolutely.

Indeed, the U.S. checks coming the DPJ-led government about relocation of the U.S Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, ref.(>"Futenma shift puts Hatoyama, U.S. ties to test")
But at the same time, the U.S. intends to reduce its military presence in northern part of Japan that was to mainly prepare for the threat of the now extinct Soviet Union during the Cold War, ref.(>"U.S. floated plan to withdraw fighter jets")

Japan should respond to those changes in the East and Far East Asia not passively but actively.
At first, Japan should abandon its "peace-at-any-price mind-set" that has kept for more than 6 decades since the end of the WW2, and face national security issue up squarely.
Indeed, if U.S forces stationed in Okinawa withdrew today, the Chinese Liberation Army would make inroad into there even tomorrow -- the Article 9th of the Constitution is meaningless in such case.

At last but not least, North Korea welcomes a birth of the DPJ-led government in Japan. Needless to say, the North's intention is to bums money and economic aids off Japan.
And the DPJ contains many anti-Japan leftwinger lawmakers including party leader Mr. Hatoyama in the first on the list and former members of the now defunct SDPJ.
We nationals should pay strict watch to those national traitors not to offer irrational money and materials to North Korea, ref.("Birth of the DPJ-led administration")

A business proposal from Europe, Eurofighter Typhoon
('09. 6/29)

The U.S. and Europe are fierce rival when it comes to aircraft industry in both military and civilian.
For example, U.S. Boeing and European Airbus are running neck and neck battle in private passenger plane business, ref.(>"Airbus & Boeing resume their feud, Hard pounding" & "Boeing & the 787, Not so dreamy")
In addition, when it comes to Japan's next generational figher-jet (FX), Europe is challenging to the U.S.

As a puppet of the U.S. in a practical meaning, Japan introduced U.S. fighter jets successively -- F-86 Sabre, F-104 Starfighter, F-4 Phantom and F-15 Eagle.
If it goes as expected, FX will be introduced from the U.S. without fiasco. Indeed, although Japan want to introduce F-22 Raptor, the U.S. isn't positive to do so, ref.(>"Importance of counterespionage")
But Europe recently revealed its intention to sell >"Eurofighter Typhoon" to Japan.

European the state of the art fighter jet "Eurofighter Typhoon" is developed jointly by Britain, Spain, Greece and Germany, and EADS, a parent company of Airbus, invests in it.
Anyway, it seems to me that this is really a bold naming because there are both Britain and Germany in team of countries to develop this fighter.
Namely, Typhoon means "Hawker Typhoon" that intercepted German fighters and bombers like Messerschmitt Bf 108, Bf 110 and so on in the so called "Battle of Britain" in 1940 in the WW2.

Usually, military should be interpreted from view point of "national security/defense" and "economy/business."
There is no doubt that Europe knows that "as a loser in the WW2, Japan is a puppet of the U.S so that it is a yes-man of the U.S. when it comes to procurement of military equipments."
For example, as the result of trade priction in '1980s, Tokyo was forced to compromise to Washington to jointly develop supporter fighter >"F-2" with the U.S. based on >"F-16" althoug it intended todevelop originally at the beginning.

If Washington agreed to sell its state of the art stealth fighter jet F-22, there would been no possibility for Europe to interrupt in this business talk.
But seeing a rejection by Washington, it is only natural for Europe to try to make business with Japan.
A proposal was made by British BAE Systems to Japan with bold good business terms and condition that Europe will offer detailed information for Japan that makes license-production easy for Japan's aircraft firm like Mitsubishi.

In responce to Europe's move, Washington is suddenly changing its position to ease restricion to export F-22 to Japan, ref.(>"Eurofighter Typhoon" vs "F-22 Raptor")
To begin with, the Obama Administration released a policy to halt procurement of F-22 mainly due to a fiscal reason.
Namely, although its specification and performance are excellent, F-22 is too expensive. But this decision invited fierce repulsion from hawkish conservative lawmakers.

Once production and procurement of this fighter is halted, production know-how won't be succeeded. In addition, if Japan decide to introduce an European fighter-jet, the U.S. will lose big military business.
Indeed, manufacturing industry has declined in the U.S. but military sector and space- and aircraft- sector is the only exception.
So Washington shouldn't be deprived FX business with Japan by Europe because not only it considers Japan as its yes-man but also for the sake of economic effects.

From the stand point of Japan, it is a perfect opportunity to compare the U.S. and Europe to withdraw as good terms and conditions as possible.
During the Cold War, 3rd World countries were trying to choose between the U.S. and the Soviet in order to withdraw as much economic and military aids as possible.
Although it is a loser in the WW2 and a practical puppet of the U.S., why can't Japan do the same thing?

I mean Tokyo should show Washington that "the U.S. isn't the only supplier of weapon" and "if you don't want to sell F-22 to us, we can purchase Euro Fighter."
Of course, U.S.-Japan bilateral relation is critically important for Japan. So Tokyo should take position that "Needless to say, we want to introduce FX from the U.S. But as Washington rejected our request, we are forced to consider to procure FX from Europe."

Anyway, how about performance of Eurofighter Typhoon? In substantial view, Eurofighter Typhoon can't beat F-22. Especially, Eurofighter Typhoon is inferior than F-22 in stealthiness
But at the same time, F-22 is excessively high-spec. and high costs. Unless Japan makes the U.S. as its enemy, F-22 is unnecessary. At present, China is the most significant hypothesis enemy of Japan.
As far as under this conditions, Eurofighter Typhoon has enough and necessary performance at much lower prices than F-22.

Especially, detailed information that Europe will reveal to Japan if it introduces Eurofighter Typhoon is attractive.
So if political circumstances -- I mean "voice from heaven" -- tolerate, Eurofighter Typhoon is worth to be considered as FX. Needless to say, "voice from heaven" means intention of Washington.
At last but not least, Japan should wipe out loser nature and masochism historical view soon that have been installed by victor countries and domestic traitor left-wingers.

Needless to say, Japan conducted many barbarities and war-crimes in the WW2, and some are still criticizing Japan, ref.(>JAPAN LEFT KEY STRAITS OPEN TO ALLOW U.S. NUKES INTO SEA OF JAPAN, Japan left key straits open for U.S. nukes)
But it is unfair to only criticize Japan (and Germany) without criticizing barbarities and war-crimes conducted by victor countries.
As atmosphere in the battle field makes people mad that some barbaric acts are unavoidable to some extents.

We Japanese should recognize well that "there is a gap of common senses between war time and normal one."
Especially, we should realize well that what whites conducted around the world since "a age of geographical discovery," ref.(>
"暗黒大陸中国の真実 ラルフ・タウンゼント")
In order to face national security matter up seriously, we Japanese should wipe masochism historical view out ASAP.

>THE VIEW FROM EUROPE, Japanese choices in aviation market reveal overreliance on U.S.
